Target Stores and Target.Com - JBL Pulse 2 Bluetooth Speaker


On Black Friday (11/25), I went to the Westampton, NJ Target to buy a Bluetooth speaker that was on sale, but it was not available. On Cyber Monday (11/28), I went on-line to see if the same Bluetooth speaker was available through Target.com. To my delight, I found it was actually offered at a lower price. I proceeded to purchase the item and have it delivered to the Westampton store for pick-up. The site said it was coming from Mannallapan, NJ and would be available for pick-up in 2 hours. It also stated I would receive an email confirming the delivery and pick-up.

I did not receive an email, so I proceeded to the Westampton store to inquire that night (11/28). I was told that they could see the order, but the product had not arrived. I was also told to wait for the email. An email never came, so I returned to the Westampton store on Wednesday (11/30). I was met by a Target Rep who told me basically the same thing the other clerk explained the prior Monday (11/28). In both instances, I was treated as if the clerks did not want to be bothered with Target.com orders and said that Target.com is not the same as the Target stores, yet both share the same name and can affect the Target Corporation's bottom line.

Not feeling comfortable with the direction I had been given, I called Target.com on Thursday (12/1). I learned at that point the order was cancelled because I never picked it up or responded to any email. I never received an email and also learned through the conversation that Target did not send it to the correct email address.

I am upset because of the poor direction I was given in the store and how Target treats on-line orders as if they do not represent the Target name. I feel there is negligence on Target's behalf and I demanded that Target rectify this situation by providing the product at the sale price given to me on Cyber Monday. Target refuses to make good on this error and offered me only a percentage of the savings I would have gotten should this have been handled better. I have filed a case with Target was given the case number 187-242-95.

I have called Target Corporate Offices to appeal, but they refuse to take care of this situation. In one conversation, I was even led to believe that the complaint would be brought to a higher level and that I would receive an email letting me know the status of the situation. When I called back after days of not hearing anything. I was informed nothing was ever filed.

I think that anyone who deals with Target should be aware of their business practices. I will continue to post this complaint on several sites and will be contacting the local news as well as Consumer Affairs. Unless Target rectifies this issue, I nor my family will continue to shop at Target stores.
